Religious Freedom—The Impossible Dream

Every now and then I stumble across an idea or a promise that initially sounds good in theory, but upon careful examination the substance of such is proven unreliable. Religious Freedom is that unreliable idea. It is unobtainable. Religious freedom is America’s broken promise. It is the impossible dream.

Religious Freedom consist of two words:

Religious — relating to or believing in something of supreme importance.

Freedom — the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hinderance or restraint.

Answer this question: Do Christians have the freedom to act and speak as they want without any hinderance or retribution? Absolutely not. Since the inception of the church over two thousand years ago, Christians have been persecuted for what they believe. There are various consequences in our country for sharing your faith with people of opposing religions. They may not be as blatant as before, but there are undesirable consequence.  

This nation is severely divided by diverse religions. The Democrats and the Republicans are perfect examples of two opposing religions. Their respective beliefs, ideologies, philosophies, and moral convictions infringe on the rights and freedoms of each other.
