About Us

It’s really not about us. It is all about Him – the Author of eternal life. It has taken me most of my life to realize this, and occasionally I still need to be reminded.

Our Christian responsibility on earth is to warn – to educate – to provoke and inspire our family, friends, and neighbors to embrace the truth found in God’s word. Reason being, so that they might all turn back to Him to escape the pending judgement, live abundantly and receive the greatest prize of all – the FREE gift of eternal life in Christ. This is my passion and my agenda in a nut shell. That is why Cross Clarity exist, to deliver thought-provoking printwear that highlights the basic truths in scripture and exposes the deceitful schemes of mankind.

We began this journey many years ago, and the fruits of Cross Clarity are just beginning to manifest. Initially I did not understand my purpose and the magnitude of my creative gifts, but I do now. My name is Tony Locke and here is my story.

I grew up as we say, “in the church”. My dear mother hauled us off to church every Sunday — my brother, my sister, and yours truly. That was our family's religious ritual for the week. My dad was present in the home, but not in church on Sundays.

I will never forget some of my church experiences as a child: That old Pentecostal hoop-style preaching, those extravagant hat competitions between the women, the up-tempo shout music, people running around, falling over the pews. I also remember arriving early in the morning for Sunday school and remaining until the 10:00 pm radio broadcast service. There were many Sundays when my siblings and I were held captive in Egypt/church all day long — literally from sun up until sun down.

Also etched in my memory was blatant hypocrisy, how “some” people acted in the church building versus how they behaved outside. God used these early church experiences to help ignite my passion for sound biblical teaching and my lack of tolerance for false doctrines and useless traditions.

Though I was raised in the church, I knew little about the Bible. My mother, to her own shame, was not a student of the scriptures. Like a lot of “church goers”, she accepted what the preacher said as truth. If you ask me today about the integrity of the preaching back then, I would say there was more sound than substance.

When I reached my mid-teens, I began to lose interest in our Sunday church ritual, and my mother had lost some of her parental power to keep me there. I had also reached a pivotal point at age 16, concluding that I was not sufficient to get in heaven. Lord knows I tried to be good. I tried to dot all the "I's" and cross all the "T's", but I kept failing. I repeatedly gave in to the typical youthful temptations, doing the things that were offensive to God. The apostle Paul could not have described my struggle any better:

I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do — this I keep on doing. — Rom. 7:18-19

One thing my Pentecostal church experience taught me was the rigid Law of God (those darn commandments), but they failed to emphasize His amazing Grace. There is a vast difference between the Law of God (Old Testament) and His Grace (New Testament) – a difference of life and death.

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. — John 1:17

For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, — Rom. 8:3

I did not comprehend the life-saving grace of God provided under the New Covenant and I had no relationship with His Son. Void of Christ in my teen-life and ignorant of the truth in scripture, I did what unbelievers do, I reverted to my own religion, the one that aligned with my corrupt version of right and wrong. I went on for more than 20-years living in disobedience and denial, believing I was 1) spiritually alive, 2) basically a good person, and 3) living a life pleasing God. In reality I was just the opposite.

It wasn’t until my early 30s that God began to draw me to Himself. It is an interesting story, but for the sake of space, I won’t go into it. The main thing is that along my journey I finally entered into a relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ, the Author of life. I wasn’t just going through the motions. I could tell my heavenly Father had a strong grip on me and was not letting go. I started getting answers to some of those challenging life and death questions.

Interestingly enough, my mother occasionally tried to encourage me to go back to church, but that was not what I needed. The building could not save me or give me eternal life. I needed a relationship with Christ and to acknowledge that He died and rose for “my” sins – my disobedience. That was the “game changer.” Christ is who set me free.

I tell people, it is a miracle that I read and study the Bible today. The only thing I used to read were instructions. Perhaps that is what draws me to the scriptures. I see them as valuable life instructions.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that fears and hates godly instruction. Most people see the Bible as too controlling and a bunch of obsolete rules. This makes sharing biblical truths very difficult and often dangerous. To make matters more confusing, there are a lot of false teachers and Christian impostors in our midst that intentionally mislead people with half-truths and lies about God and the scriptures. Since most people don’t read and study the Bible, they are vulnerable to these false teachings (Ephesians 4:14).

The Bible issues stern warnings repeatedly about false teachers and false doctrines that turn us away from the true God, but only a minority heed these warnings.

1) But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them — bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. — 2Pet. 2:1-3

2) I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! — Acts 20:29-31

3) Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations…— 2Tim. 4:2-5

Imagine yourself for a moment, trying desperately to warn your beloved relatives and close friends about a consuming fire raging towards them, but they don’t believe you. They do not take you serious because other people who they do not know – world famous celebrities, philosophers, and educators told them there is no need to be alarmed. Here is the problem. According to the Bible, this threat of pending danger is for real.

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. — Heb. 10:26-27

I thank God for equipping me with extraordinary creative wisdom and a special talent for making the scriptures relevant. Since my spiritual rebirth in Christ (John 3:3), I have used my creative juice to teach and spread the good news about the real Super Man, Jesus Christ. He is the real Savior of the world (1John 3:8).

It is the false teachers among us and their corrupt doctrines that provoke me to continue producing Printwear that promotes the truth.
